The National Basketball Association (NBA) is North America's professional men's basketball league, composed of thirty teams: twenty-nine in the United States and one in Canada. The league's several international as well as individual team offices are directed out of its head offices located in the Olympic Tower in New York City. NBA Entertainment and NBA TV studios are directed out of offices located in New Jersey. The NBA counts 14 offices around the globe, which in Asia includes NBA China (encompassing Greater China, Taiwan & Hong Kong), NBA India and NBA Asia (covering the rest of Asia) based in Hong Kong.
 
The Director, Marketing Partnerships & Business Development will lead the new business acquisition process for the NBA in a number of markets in Asia where the focus will be on new partner development - prospecting, pitching, negotiating and securing new corporate partners and ultimately managing those partners.  In addition they will focus on developing the NBA’s brand extension business which includes developing new revenue streams.
 
Responsibilities;
 
Consult with both multinational and domestic-based companies to determine their marketing objectives and present, deliver, and sell integrated programs that will meet these objectives. These programs will include media, interactive, and event-based assets. Additionally this role will be responsible for working with the brand extension team to develop and secure new partners in focus markets.
 
Skills and Experience;
  • Successful track record in sales within an international business in Asia
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial thinker – able to shape, develop and execute the strategy for a diverse region
  • A credible communicator, adept at operating at all levels up to Board level
  • A regionally savvy relationship builder, able to communicate with government officials, regional CMOs and a variety of people from different cultures.
  • Commercially minded and results driven
