Project Manager Role
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, actioning and reviewing changes that are required to this sportbetting website and operations.
- Ensuring that business cases (budget and benefits) are updated and plans in place to realise benefits for all change requests.
- Delivering approved projects within agreed timescales and budgets
- Ensuring that projects are planned, managed and reported in line with the Online Project Management Framework
- Undertakes assurance activities to monitor project progress against milestones, quality criteria and costs
- Identify and ensure appropriate actions are taken to resolve / mitigate against key issues, risks and dependencies across projects and programmes
- Supporting and working with the Programme Lead to promote the smooth delivery of the business project portfolio
- Specifically this role is targeted at looking at rapid delivery of new functionality for the business.
- The other part of the role is to provide general Project Management support for Gibraltar office.
- Ensure Management Behaviours Framework is adhered to.
Team
- This role reports directly into the Sports Betting Program Manger
- Working closely with business leads in Gibraltar and the ability to utilise analysts, developers and testers.
- Work with the IS Procurement Manager to maintain relations with suppliers and keep them informed and involved in future IS strategies;
- Ensure that team / individuals all have clear understanding of roles and responsibilities as well as an understanding of the wider business priorities and how their activities fit into the wider business goals
- Ensure that resources are managed to ensure optimal utilisation
- The role will require travel to all locations and 3rd party suppliers offices
Principal Accountabilities
IT Delivery, Quality and Availability
- To ensure all projects are agreed with the business and prioritised.
- Ensure that all projects are planned using the Project Management Framework and that resource is available to deliver the work
- Manage project budgets where applicable
- To manage the design, build and unit test of the business applications or Infrastructure projects, ensuring that delivery costs are competitive with the market
- To define and scope all projects in accordance with the Project Management Framework
- To ensure that applications are developed making best use of the current and planned infrastructure
- To own and provide effective management of suppliers for the delivery of new and changed applications, ensuring that they meet their obligations, including Orbis.
- Identify and manage project dependencies across the portfolio
- To ensure that the selected systems development methodology is applied within the project management framework
- To ensure that projects and phases are initiated in a controlled manner
- To ensure that the necessary governance structures are created
- To ensure that the risks and issues are managed
- To ensure that changes against the agreed scope are managed
- To ensure that the necessary configuration management is in place for all project deliverables
Operational Budgeting and Reporting
- Understand the budgeting and cost elements of the project portfolio and the detailed breakdown of components;
- Develop a quarterly forecast as required to ensure future requirements are catered for.
Performance Criteria
- Projects are delivered to time, cost and quality
- Stated business benefits are realised for all projects
- Projects are delivered to a defined and acceptable level of quality
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Gained Project management qualification or certification
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a Project Management / Delivery Lead Role
- Previous experience of managing projects through the full Project Life Cycle using a structured methodology such as PRINCE2 or others.
- Understanding and knowledge of RAD (Rapid Application and Agile development techniques are desireable
- Understanding and knowledge of Sports Betting
- Previous experience of line management and developing a project delivery team
- Experience of supplier management and awareness of how the external market affects the business and service
- A strong customer focus, recognising internal and external customers, establishing effective relationships.
- Strong communication (verbal/written) and influencing skills, with an ability to manage internal and external relationships up to senior levels of management
- Experience of delivering projects via third parties
