Purpose of Sponsorship Sales Manager

Sourcing and negotiating corporate sponsorship deals for players represented by Sport First across their football. Rugby, motorsport, cricket and golf divisions (including Jonthan Trott, Eoin Morgan, Alan Smith, Danny Willett.). Focus would be non sports industry corporate sponsoring (endorsement) deals. The successful Sponsorship Sales Manager will also assist in the development of a sponsorship consulting business, advising brands on how to get the maximum return from the investment in sport.

Context of position

The Sponsorship Sales Manager job is a newly created post due to growth of Sport First in the UK.

The new post of Sponsorship Sales Manager will initially focus their work within Golf but will also sell across all of the other sports

Main duties and responsibilities of the role

The Sponsorship Sales Manager will be tasked with working closely alongside Alex Black (and the other division heads Martin Offiah and Ian Taylor) to develop corporate sponsorship and endorsement deals for the selection of players currently being managed by Sport First. The focus of the business development will be outside the sports industry, focusing on corporate relationships.

The role will involve developing new business relationships for the individuals and a secondary function for the Sales Manager will to help in the development of a consulting division, advising clients on their sports sponsorship strategies.
