The successful candidate will join a new management team at Arsenal on an ambitious journey. Ivan Gazidis joined as Chief Executive Officer in January 2009 and his ambition is to turn Arsenal into one of the leading sporting organizations in the world.
This is a rare opportunity to work within an elite sports team and business and will be both a challenging and rewarding post at a significant time in the clubs history.
The Head of Marketing will lead the marketing of all Arsenal products and services in order to maximise revenue and profitability, whilst simultaneously owning and developing the brand and its relationship with supporters.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
- Develop, implement and measure the clubs marketing strategy in line with revenue and brand objectives
- Own and further develop the club’s highly successful ‘cradle to grave’ membership scheme to retain and monetise supporters. Lead the fan acquisition strategy, domestically and internationally, with particular focus on Junior Gunners and Soccer Schools
- Work with internal stakeholders providing marketing support to drive business opportunities across retail, licensing, online, partnerships, affinity, membership, ticketing, corporate hospitality and conference and banqueting
- Lead the club’s supporter research activities and pro-actively convert insight into business value
- Manage the marketing department budget and ensure ROI on all activities
- Manage and develop the brand across all supporter touch points in a way that is consistent with its heritage and vision
- Create marketing and sales capability indicative of a world class sports organisation by evolving CRM capability
- Manage the agency roster and the creative process
- Provide strong leadership and development to the marketing team to drive high performance
Skills, knowledge and qualifications required:
Technical
- Proven track record, at a “Head of” level of developing, implementing and measuring marketing activity to drive a brands revenue and equity
- Experience of working within a blue chip marketing environment
- Experience of working on strategic/joint marketing projects with internal stakeholders and across multi-platform
- Specific experience of working within a one to one/ CRM based marketing environment
- Able to demonstrate credibility with board level relationships
- A strong understanding of brand dynamics and consumer trends
- Proven track record of leader a high performing marketing team

- A passion or empathy with sport/sports entertainment
