In-House Legal Advisor

Salary: €Competitive Salary + Benefits » Ref: CJ4966 » Location: Barcelona

The Client:
Euroleague Properties, S.A. is the company responsible for the management, administration and organisation of the European professional competitions of basketball clubs, and the promotion and development of the commercial activities linked to its competitions. Euroleague Properties exclusively manages all of the television, sponsorship, licensing and merchandising rights relating to the Eurocup Finals.
 
The Opportunity:
 
The Legal Advisor will provide support and assistance to the Legal Department Director and work as a member of the team in the Legal Department of Euroleague, particularly the services provided by the Legal Adviser will be related to the following:
  • Prepare, advise and review all form of legal contracts, particularly commercial contracts (including service agreements, sponsorship agreements, merchandising, licensing, audiovisual rights agreements...)
  • Advise and ensure the protection of intellectual property rights / trademarks / brand
  • Advise and ensure that the business complies with the requirements of legislation relating to Data Protection
  • Monitor, research and analyse implications of legislation, case law and regulatory matters that might affect the business and report back to the Legal Department Director
  • Support different operational departments with corporation or companies law (particularly Luxembourg law)
  • Assist in all corporate legal matters (attend meetings with the governing bodies; be responsible for the minutes of the governing meetings; proxies; amendments to the articles of association and responsibility of files and custody of documents)
Skills, knowledge and qualifications required: 
  • Relevant legal qualifications
  • Minimum experience as a legal adviser (ideally in-house) of no less than 3 years
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of EU legislation (particularly if possible Luxembourg law)
  • Previous experience of commercial sports law is preferred
  • Strong personal communications and presentational skills
  • Fluency in English with ability to draft legal documents in English
  • Fluency in Spanish recommended
  • Excellent command on Microsoft Office
