Commonwealth Games England (CGE) is the organisation responsible for the selection and participation of competitors in the Commonwealth Games. They are currently embarking on an exciting modernisation programme focusing on pride to create the best possible environment for English sporting achievement in Delhi 2010 and London 2012.

Sporting Purpose

  • Ensuring that the dominant focus of CGE is sport, working with the CGE Executive team and National Governing Bodies, to ensure the Games best meet the needs of athletes in order to optimise performance.

Marketing and Communications

  • Maximising awareness of the Games and the role of CGE amongst potential sponsors, sporting bodies, elite athletes, key opinion makers and the general public.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of a plan to support the CGE’s goals for the Games in Delhi 2010, and building the visibility and appeal of the Games for the longer term.

Finance

  • Ensuring that CGE manages its resources effectively and achieves good value for money.

Corporate Governance

  • Developing the board’s corporate governance procedures and its measurement of risk and value.
  • Helping to promote an effective strategy process.
